Share prices continued to grind higher last week, bonds and gold were unchanged and the dollar down. Business managers and consumers are once again making decisions. Auto Trader announced June price cuts of 25%, Whitbread launched a one for two rights issue at £15 compared to a peak price of around £50, US credit card spending in April was only 20% down year on year compared to -40% the month before and, still in the US, mortgage applications are picking up.
